Love the photo of yr toes peaking out of the white sand on the Kenyan Indian ocean coast!
I’ve been to Malindi -stayed there for a week or so
it was utterly deserted beaches with the most spectacular coral reef
thousands of colourful fish and spectacular massive white clouds with a gentle sea breeze – and i got the most spectacular tan
it brought tears to my eyes it was so breath tackingly beautiful!
what’s your take on what’s going on in south Africa at the moment?
what do you think is the real reason that the ANC didn’t let Mbeki get to the end of his run in 4 months
very tacky in my book!

As for the photo of your feet, I have lived in Malindi for like six months and the beach is what I miss most.

hey there. stumbled across your page. good to read your smart and critical thoughts. i’m 29 and have lived in the states since i was 7. recently thinking about moving back to kenya. mind you i have not visited since i was about 12 years old…anyway my main fear has been about finding other creative, critical people who are fearlessly themselves to surround myself with when i return…i suppose i am just rambling, but also seeking guidance and support. thanks.

Welcome to my world Cira!
Yes, moving back. Mzee and I are on a plan to relocate to Kenya too. We actually tried looking for jobs this summer without success. From what everyone told us then, you should absolutely make sure you have a soft cushion to land on. Those of my friends who have been happy with their move back had jobs lined up before they went back and an extensive social network they could call upon. They are all really happy with the move though. Come to think of it, its a lot of people I know
